How Does FemTouch™ Work?
FemTouch™ is a form of laser treatment that is performed internally using an instrument that is not dissimilar to that used to perform internal ultrasounds in the early stages of pregnancy.
FemTouch™ utilizes cutting edge laser technology which it uses to encourage the production of collagen and rejuvenating the vaginal mucosa which are the mucous secretions inside the vagina that protect it against some types of bacteria and infection. Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body and gives skin strength, structure and suppleness. As we get older, our natural collagen production slows down, causing the skin to become thinner and more fragile. This includes the skin lining the walls of the vagina. Childbirth can also stretch the vaginal walls beyond their usual capability, leading to lax skin and loss of strength.
The FemTouch™ laser triggers the skin to produce more health vaginal mucosa and collagen, causing the vaginal walls to become stronger, thicker, healthier and more flexible than before.
FemTouch™ Vaginal Treatment Details
When you choose to undergo FemTouch™ treatment, the process will begin by applying lubricant to the scanner. This will help ensure that you remain as comfortable as possible, and whilst it may feel a little odd, you shouldn’t be in any pain at any point during the treatment. Once lubricated, the FemTouch™ scanner will be inserted into your vaginal canal where it will be slowly moved along the length of the vaginal wall. At the same time, a 360° laser will emit from the instrument, targeting all of the vaginal walls at the same time.
The entire process takes just minutes and you can return home immediately after. Aside from avoiding sex and tampon use for 72 hours, you can get back to normal immediately.
How Many FemTouch™ sessions Will I Need?
Some patients experience considerable vaginal rejuvenation after just one FemTouch™ session. However, most patients will need at least two or three sessions to reap the maximum benefit. Since every patient is unique, how many sessions you need will depend on your individual response to treatment.
